Julie Himel

Julie Himel’s still life paintings metaphorically explore the human condition in a technically engaging manner. Sculptural brush strokes challenge the eye when subjects as ethereal as glass and light are rendered. The paintings are quiet, meditative and dynamic. Holding a Diploma of Fine Arts from Langara College, a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honour’s Degree from York University, and a Graduate Diploma from Toronto School of Art, she also attained a Diploma in Interactive Media, and worked in design and animation in corporate and film industry settings. Julie’s award winning paintings can be found in public collections in Canada and the United States, and in private collections Internationally.
